Issues With Cooktops

Electric Cooktop Not Heating   and or Uneven or Slow Heating – due to numerous reasons, such as a defective element, faulty switches, problematic wiring, electronic control boards, no power or not sufficient power to the unit. 

Gas Cooktop not Heating  due to numerous reasons such as no power to the unit or no gas getting to the unit, spark switches, igniters, spark modules or control board issues.

Issues with burners:

If none of the burners are working, it possible no power to the unit for any type of the cooktop.

Electric cooktop: If individual burners are not working, it means there is an internal electrical problems such as  burner switches, faulty heating element or control board or burner control/ switch.

Electric cooktop recepticle and heating coils need to be replaced together

Gas cooktop – if it clicks when not in use, ignition switch or spark module need to be replaced

3. Cooktop Indicating Error Codes

Different brands have specific codes to indicate issues like power supply problems, sensor issues, or a malfunctioning fan. 

7. Cooktop Glass Cracked or Shattered

If your glass cooktop has a minor crack, you might be tempted to continue using it by just avoiding the cracked area. However, this is not advisable as even minor cracks can expand with heat, leading to shattering, which is potentially dangerous.

When faced with a cracked or shattered glass cooktop, it’s best to have the entire cooktop surface replaced.
